Once a week, people drop in to the CEED Centre for a free guitar workshop. Everyone is welcome, no matter your level of ability. We work on the skills that each person wants to learn. We find a simple song that allows everyone to exercise their chops.
For example, at a recent session we played Down in the Valley, a simple two-chord song that everybody knows. A beginner practiced strumming the chords; a more advanced player worked on playing a melody line within a chord progression while another worked on finger-picking patterns. It was fun, and it sounded half-decent towards the end.
