Event Description

Community Creek Restoration Gathering: Circles of Conversation, Connection, and Action

Join us for a light meal, and conversation with Councillor Rick Bailey, and q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie) Elders, about the decline of salmon in the Fraser Watershed, the impact on local communities, and what we can all do to help restore our creeks. The evening will feature the SFU premiere of the Peel a documentary highlighting the landscape, culture and wildlife of one of the last intact river systems left in North America, which is currently under threat of development. The Peel’s Director, Calder Cheverie, will be in attendance. Representatives from local environmental organizations will be on site to guide the community in taking action.
