Event Description

As part of Earth Week celebrations in Maple Ridge, Cinema Politica Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows in association with the Community Development on Environment and Development (C.E.E.D.) Centre and North Fraser Beekeepers presents "Vanishing of the Bees".

Honeybees have been mysteriously disappearing across the planet.  Known as "Colony Collapse Disorder", this phenomenon has brought beekeepers to crisis.  This film looks at the efforts of commercial beekeepers as they strive to keep their bees healthy and fulfill pollination contracts.

Bees are responsible for one in three bites of food we take and this film looks at the causes for the disappearance of bees and the relationship between mankind and mother earth.
